Role and Responsibilities:
As an System Administrator, you will be part of an integrated agile deployment and testing team that supports the installation and testing of large healthcare applications, system interfaces, data and messaging exchanges. This position will ensure applications are installed in various test environments, document load procedures and ensure the processes are repeatable for installing in production environments. You will utilize tools such as Github and AppDynamics for application performance monitoring. This position combines system admin and operations engineering disciplines with a business focus for delivering IT performance management solutions.
Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
  • Providing system administration for various servers/applications
  • Provide application performance monitoring utilizing tools such as AppDynamics to monitor and analyze application performance end-to-end, including network and transport systems, Web Servers (e.g. Apache, IIS), Database Servers (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, DB2), Application Servers (e.g. Websphere, Weblogic) and Operating Systems (e.g. Windows, UNIX)
  • Troubleshoot performance issues for UNIX and Windows based platforms
  • Collect network performance information required for simulation modeling studies
  • Analyze and understand client’s IT requirements, organization functions, and decision-making processes
  • Work on-site and remotely with customers both individually and in teams
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • BS in Computer Science or related field, or 3 years of experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on application deployment and application performance monitoring utilizing tools such as Github, Splunk, etc., and technologies such as AppDynmics.
  • Knowledge of JAVA: J2EE, JMS, JDBC, XML Schema, WSDL
  • Knowledge of C# or similar programming languages
  • Experience with Web Application Server such as JBoss, WebSphere, and Weblogic
  • Experience with Military Health System or ability to learn complex legacy applications is a plus
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC)

Required / Special Skills:
  • Must have experience creating application installation scripts
  • Must have experience working with Application performance monitoring tools such as AppDynamics or other.
  • Must have experience with Unix and Windows operating systems.
