Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our fast paced team. This position will work collaboratively under the Proposal Manager and be responsible for drafting technically responsive content based on government solicitation response requirements, past performance material and core capability statements, case studies, and technical and management methodologies/processes based on current projects and company expertise for use in marketing and business development efforts. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing/editing skills and have a solid grasp on content management system subject matter, web development standards, user-centered design methodologies, and data analytics. 
The Technical Writer works with proposal managers, opportunity pursuit leads, account teams, and subject matter experts to analyze solicitations, determine proposal requirements, develop the response strategy, and submit a compliant, responsive proposal.

The Technical Writer will be expected to: 
  • Work directly with the Capture and Proposal Managers to identify required content for responses.
  • Compile and write material for proposals, quotes, and other responses, ensuring the response is compliant, compelling, and all client requirements are met.
  • Effectively utilize existing documentation to address recurring content inquiries and develop tailored responses.
  • Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • Write proposal sections as required and edit sections written by others.
  • Conceptualize graphics that drive or support written material.
  • Conduct interviews with key personnel, subcontractors, program managers, and subject matter experts to develop resumes, past performance, management, and technical content.
  • Help maintain past performance, writing templates, and the proof points library housed in the proposal group’s online portal.
  • Support and contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to enhance the efficiency and quality of the writing/editing team and overall proposal group.
  • Edit proposals for spelling, typographical, and grammatical errors; proper syntax; as well as readability, ease of comprehension, and consistency.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of overall experience in supporting business captures and proposals with the focus on capturing technical requirements and defining technical solutions in the form of conceptual, logical, and physical designs, including the ability to articulate those concepts both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate experience working directly with engineers and other technical subject matter experts.
  • Demonstrate experience in translating and organizing government solicitation response requirements into usable proposal content.
  • Ability to synthesize solution design information, architectural principles, available technologies, third-party products, and industry standards to articulate a systems architecture that meets client’s requirements.
  • Ability to interpret and understand technical specifications, design diagrams and engineering schematic to ensure complete and accurate documentation.
  • Professional experience understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, implementation of software solutions, methodologies and frameworks such as Agile, CMMI, and ISO, and use of cloud platforms for solutions.
  • Capability to support multiple programs and contracts.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • US Citizenship required.
