Our client is seeking a IT Support/Help Desk Specialist to ensure proper computer operations so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests in addition to maintaining acceptable performance of business systems. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for day to day operations including installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems.
  • Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
  • Work closely with team members to resolve technical issues, as well as perform routine tasks such as monitoring, server management, user and group administration, software installation, imaging, etc.
  • Assist with the forecasting and managing of server technologies and growth, coordinate and manage client/server disaster recovery planning.
  • Apply patch and security changes per policy and pro-actively monitor the environment for patch compliance.
  • Participate in long- and short-range technology planning including hardware and software inventory for departments
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, operating procedures, and service records relating to the infrastructure and software.
  • Troubleshoot Windows/Linux/MacOS, networks, cloud, storage, application
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • 3+ years of hands on experience with Windows and Linux System Administration
  • 3+ years of experience with customer service, including researching and solving problems independently and providing high-quality customer
  • Ability to troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating-system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Strong Windows and Linux knowledge, analytical problem solving skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain security and integrity controls by planning, testing, and performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, monitor critical systems
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to take corrective actions prior to failures
  • Ability to be a team player, including coordinating and collaborating across multiple teams and vendors to achieve common goals or success.
  • Ability to learn, transfer knowledge, and train staff in new technologies.
  • Experience with Google Apps (G-Suite) for corporate usage.
  • Experience operating Amazon Web Services (AWS) virtual servers.
  • Experience with administration and configuration of firewall devices.
Preferred / Special Skills:
  • Experience with G-Suite, a plus
  • Experience hosting corporate systems in the cloud
  • Experience with Deltek systems
  • Experience with Confluence and Jira
